There is water on Mars after all, scientists from the American Institute of Technology in Georgia have proved. They announced this at a press conference at NASA. The researchers have found dark streaks half a metre to five metres wide on Martian slopes. They appeared and even expanded at the equator of the planet in summer, and disappeared in winter, RIA Novosti reported citing a scientific paper. Scientists have suggested that the strange streaks were left by streams of water. But it is so salty that it does not freeze in freezing temperatures of minus 25-30 degrees Celsius. The theory has been confirmed by recent images from the Martian probe MRO. The only thing the researchers have not been able to figure out is where this water comes from.
